The region has never had an organisation connecting scenes, towns and cities, to speak with one voice when it matters.And it matters right now. National organisations talk in regions, funding arrives in regions, partnership talks start with regions.We're building the East Midlands Music Commission as an independent, industry-led not-for-profit rooted in the region.We're getting organised so investment and opportunity can flow across the whole East Midlands.

We're not alone. East Midlands Music Commission is being developed with support and insight from people and organisations across the East Midlands and the wider UK music industry.UK Music, Lord Brennan of Canton, Music Venue Trust, the Featured Artists Coalition, The F-List, Derby Creates, Leicester Music Board, LOUD WOMEN, Chris Hawkins (BBC Radio 6 Music), Dean Jackson (BBC Introducing) and a growing cross-party coalition of MPs, councillors, artists and grassroots voices across the region.Our support network is growing.

WHAT'S NEXT?

Over the coming months we'll be listening across the six counties, mapping the region's music ecosystems and developing the structure for an independent, industry-led East Midlands Music Commission.We'll bring together artists, venues, promoters, festivals, music businesses, educators, grassroots organisations and the wider industry to identify what the region needs, and where working together can make a difference.Work in music in the East Mids?
